Wenger has his eyes on Lyon star man Fekir as he looks to strengthen his squad this summer. According to the 'Daily Mail', the Arsenal manager has put the French midfielder at the top of his list of transfer targets, and is willing to meet Lyon's valuation for the player.
Lyon, who will be reluctant to sell, reportedly want £45million for the attacking midfielder, who has been one of their key men so far this season, but their hefty price tag has not scared Wenger off.
Fekir, who is 24 years old, is already Lyon's captain, and has scored 21 goals in 31 appearances so far this season for the French side. He is the fourth highest scorer in Ligue 1, bested only by Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Radamel Falcao, and he has better shot accuracy than any of his aforementioned competitors.
These impressive stats are expected to earn the attacking midfielder a place in France's World Cup squad this summer, and Wenger hopes to wrap the deal up before the player travels to Russia.
Arsenal, who have already raided Lyon for striker Alexandre Lacazette, have had their eye on Fekir for a while now, with both Wenger and French scout Gilles Grimandi observing his development closely. However, they are not the only ones, as the midfielder has also been linked to Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Aside from the Frenchman, Arsenal are also hoping to bring in West Brom defender Johnny Evans, who they failed to sign in the January transfer window, as they look to keep up with the strong competition at the top of the Premier League.
