Thinking ahead to the Copa del Rey final on Saturday, Ernesto Valverde chose to rotate his squad and rested some of his stars.
After seeing that his side were struggling, Valverde saw himself forced to throw Messi into the mix in order to try and regain the lead. The Argentine was directly involved in Paco Alcacer's goal that gave Barca a temporary 2-1 lead.
When Sergi Roberto got himself sent off, the game was flipped on it's head. Celta took advantage and equalised through Iago Aspas who looked to have used his hand to turn the ball beyond Ter Stegen.
Before full-time, some lackadaisical defending almost cost Barcelona the game. When Celta came close to finding a winner, Messi didn't hold back his criticism for Yerry Mina. Cameras from 'GOL' caught the moment the Argentine told off his Colombian team-mate who had just given away the ball.
After the game the two Barca stars hugged, made up, and forgot the heat-of-the-moment altercation.
