Antonio Conte's apparent lack of faith in Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud has often seen Hazard lining up as Chelsea's most advanced player in recent weeks, though Martinez insists that he will not be forcing his star into doing the same when representing his country.
"Eden is not a false nine for me," Martinez rather blunty told reporters, before explaining that his options up front mean there is no need to field the former Lille man in a position he doesn't enjoy.
"Chelsea can work with guys like Pedro around him but with us we have Romelu Lukaku, Michy Batshuayi, even Dries Mertens who can play there. I'm not going to put Hazard there.
"The shape of Lukaku is very good. He was impressive against Liverpool. He shows maturity, and I was pleased to see him perform at such a high level."
Meanwhile, the former Everton and Wigan boss refused to close the door on Christian Benteke, despite the Crystal Palace man being left out of the squad to face Saudi Arabia next week.
"Benteke is still part of our group," he explained.
"I just did not want to call too many attackers. Christian has to try to get to his best level at his club. He has a relegation fight that he needs to focus on."
