Everton head coach Sam Allardyce received an apology from the club chairman Bill Kenwright, after a survey was conducted on the trustworthyness of the manager, players and coaching staff.
Club supporters were sent an email and invited to answer a series of questions that probed their thoughts and reactions to the current management.
Allardyce said: ''The survey...the managing director of marketing and communications has clearly slipped up. Even though I believe the survey has been recently passed out before, from my point of view it was a big mistake.''
He jokingly noted that: ''It has allowed [the media] to write some beautiful headlines on that situation.''
Allardyce was asked if he had received an apology from club hierarchy, and responded: ''Off the chairman, yes.''
One of the questions asked the participant to rate whether they had a high degree of trust in the manager and coaching staff at Everton. When asked what he would have rated himself, Allardyce joked: ''P*** off! Eleven!''
