Barcelona are midway through a tough January and Ernesto Valverde will make some changes to his starting lineup for the first leg at Espanyol.
We will see a very different team to that used by the La Liga leaders in their 5-0 win back in September, with Cillessen starting in goal and Vermaelen alongside Pique in central defence. Yerry Mina is not elegible to play for the Catalans yet.
Nelson Semedo and Lucas Digne could step in for Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba, while the injury blows of Iniesta and Coutinho could see Valverde opt for a rather physical midfield with Rakitic, Busquets, André Gomes and Paulinho. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are expected to feature, though Jose Arnaiz could make a surprise start.
Espanyol will seek revenge over their city rivals and they have placed most of their hopes in striker Gerard Moreno, who has netted 11 times in La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
Piatti, David Lopez and Javi Fuego could return while Jurado and Sergio García will miss out on the crucial fixture.
Potential lineups:
Espanyol: Diego Lopez; Dídac, Hermoso, Duarte, Javi Lopez; David Lopez, Javi Fuego, Darder; Piatti, Baptistao, Gerard Moreno.
Barcelona: Cillessen; Sergi Roberto, Pique, Vermaelen, Jordi Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Andre Gomes, Paulinho; Messi, Luis Suarez.
