Antonio Conte's side returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a routine 3-1 victory away from home. The comfortable nature of the win was good news for Ampadu, as he was able to come off the bench to make his league debut for the Blues.
The teenage defender came onto the field after 80 minutes in place of Andreas Christensen to play his first minutes in the Premier League.
At just 17 years old, Ampadu is continuing to progress beyond his years and he became the second youngest player to play for Chelsea in the Premier League. He is already a full international with Wales and made his Chelsea debut for Chelsea in the EFL Cup clash against Nottingham Forest, to then play the full 90 minutes against Everton in the next round of the competition.
Now, he has made his Premier League bow. With the scoreline at 3-0 at the John Smith's Stadium, Conte gave the nod to Ampadu and brought him on for his first apperance in the English top tier.
Ethan Ampadu is the first player born in the year 2000 to play for Chelsea in the Premier League.
