The West Brom captain has been heavily linked with a move away form the club in recent months, with both Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger thought to be keen admirers of the Northern Irishman's talents.
Evans has just 18 months remaining on his contract at the Hawthorns and has reportedly told the club that he does not wish to sign fresh terms with the Midlanders.
Now, 'BBC Sport' reports that there is a clause in the 30-year-old's contract that means he will be able to leave West Brom for just £3m in the summer, should the club be relegated from the Premier League.
That eventuality is looking somewhat likely at the moment, with West Brom currently second bottom of the Premier League, three points from safety.
Whilst West Brom boss Alan Pardew has previously stated that he wants to keep the former Manchester United man around this month, there is a growing feeling that it may be in the best interests of the club to cash in now.
