The KNVB released a statement announcing the winger's retirement from the Dutch national team, after they failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia with a miracle win over Sweden. Robben scored both goals as Holland won on Tuesday night but failed to qualify for next year's World Cup.
The Bayern Munci man bids fareweel to international football after 96 appearances and 37 goals. He will not be in Russia after featuring in three World Cups and three European Championships.
