It's all over!
City win their opening game of the Premier League seaon despite a spirited performance from new boys Brighton. Brighton 0-2 Manchester City.

Three minutes of added time here at the Amex and City are looking set for an opening weekend Premier League win.

Aguero is replaced by summer signing Bernardo Silva.
Brighton chance
Knockaert is through on goal but the City defence gets back quickly, the winger goes down in the box and is looking for a penalty but Michael Oliver waves play on.
Opportunity for Brighton
Knockaert makes an instant impact as he is bundled down by Sane. The free-kick is sent in low towards the near post but City clear comfortably.

Raheem Sterling replaces Jesus.

Dunk own goal!
Fernandinho gets to the Brighton byline and clips a ball back towards Jesus. Dunk challenges him for the header but somehow sends it towards his own goal and Ryan can't save.

Dangerous free-kick for City
Walker is brought down on the edge of the box by Murphy. The resulting free-kick is taken by De Bruyne but it goes straight into thre Brighton wall.
Aguero breaks the deadlock!
De Bruyne charges forward and fizzes a pass to Silva. He then plays a first time through ball for Aguero and the Argentinian placed the ball in the far corner of Ryan's goal.

The first change for Guardiola's side sees Leroy Sane replace Danilo. The pace of the young German could be vital for City to open up this Brighton defence.
City want a penalty!
De Bruyne unleashes a powerful left-footed strike that hits Dunk on the arm, but it's close enough to his body for the referee to wave play on.

Glenn Murray replaces Tomer Hemed.
Brighton chances!
The ball breaks to Duffy in the box, who strikes for goal but it flies agonisingly wide before going out for a corner. Ederson makes a mess of the delivery and the ball pinballs around in the box. Brighton have three strikes with Propper sending the last one wide.
City chance!
A poor back pass from Duffy lets Aguero in, but he takes too long and allows Dunk to recover and clear for Brighton.

Fernandinho lifts a ball over the Brighton back line to Silva, who is just offside, before squaring for Jesus to finish.

City are knocking the ball about in the final third, but Fernandinho gets frustrated and strikes for goal. Easy save for Ryan.
Will City find a way through?
Guardiola certainly has reinforcements on the bench. Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane are all warming up early in this second half.

City all over Brighton in the first half but the Premier League new boys head down the tunnel level at the break.

Wild shot from Jesus
The Brazilian pick up the ball and drives towards the Brighton penalty area. He lets fly on the half-volley but send his strike high and wide.
Brighton starting to settle
After a nervy start, the hosts have started to look fairly solid in defence. They have one of their few chances of the match as Murphy gets away from Walker and is on goal, but Ederson sweeps up for City.
Superb save Ryan!
Aguero gets to the byline and clips back a ball to find Jesus. He powers a header towards goal but Ryan saves. Jesus then hits the outside of the post with the rebound.
City chance
Stephens brings down Silva to bring another free-kick in a promising position for City. This time De Bruyne fires into the wall and Brighton survive again.

De Bruyne curls a ball over the Brighton defence that Jesus reaches and chests past Ryan. Referee Michael Oliver, however, spots that Jesus used his hand to bundle the ball into the net and correctly rules the goal out.

Brown has picked up an injury and is replaced by Murphy.
77 per cent possession for City
A Brighton mistake allows De Brunye to pick up the ball in the midfield, but he just overhits his pass for Jesus and it goes out for a goal kick.

De Bruyne steps up to take a long-range free kick, which he gets over the wall but Brighton goalkeeper Ryan saves comfortably.

The Premier League new boys are giving the ball away far too easily. They can't keep hold of the ball at the moment.
Walker impressing
The right-back is almost playing as a right winger. He has got in behind the Brighton defence a couple of times now.
Brighton on the back foot
Jesus does well to beat Dunk down the right, but Duffy covers and manages to clear the Brazilian's cross.
City looking bright in the early stages
Walker gets in down the right and pulls it back to Aguero, but he scuffs his shot and Brighton clear.
