The 24 man shortlist was made up of Aubameyang, Bonucci, Buffon, Carvajal, Cristiano, Dybala, Griezmann, Hazard, Ibrahimovic, Iniesta, Kane, Kante, Kroos, Lewandowski, Marcelo, Messi, Modric, Keylor Navas, Neuer, Neymar, Sergio Ramos, Alexis Sanchez, Suarez and Vidal.
Now, 24 has become three. Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and the most expensive player in football history, Neymar, will fight for the coveted prize.
As noted on FIFA's official website, the vote will be made up of:
25%: National team captains
25%: National team coaches
25%: Media (Selected group of over 200 representatives from six continents)
25%: Fans (Via the online voting system on FIFA.com)
The winner will be announced on October 23.
