As he watched the European action from the stands, Diego Costa's warmer side was on display. The striker was left with his head in his hands after Batshuayi netted a last-gasp winner for Chelsea.
The much-anticipated confrontation between Costa and Conte was not caught by television cameras, but there was a warm embrace between the striker and another Conte: the Chelsea manager's brother Gianluca, who is assistant first-team coach for the Blues.
It was the first time Costa had been anywhere near his former team since the FA Cup final back in May, before Antonio Conte told him he was surplus to requirements at Chelsea.
The striker also remains in touch with several of his old teammates, who also joined in the pre-match farewells.
